Company History

In 1995, company founder Sheri Stoltenberg realized there was a need in the marketplace for a healthcare IT consulting company that delivered support to hospitals and health systems differently. She set out to build a team of consultants who valued long-term client partnerships with hospitals, truly thinking about big picture technology advancement in healthcare. Creating a well-rounded, cross-trained analyst team, Stoltenberg Consulting formed. The team excelled in evaluating very complex IT system problems to identify lasting cost savings and efficiencies — leaving hospitals in a better position long after the projects concluded.

This approach continues today. Still solely serving the healthcare industry, Stoltenberg has expanded over the years, now with 150+ consultants located across the United States. Based on direct client hospital requests, service line expansions include IT strategic advisory services, EHR managed services, and help desk support. Aligning digital health advancement with expanding IT footprints, Stoltenberg has worked with over 100 healthcare organizations across the country. Our clients range from large academic medical centers and multi-hospital health systems to small community hospitals and critical access facilities nationwide.

Stoltenberg's Environmental Policy

Stoltenberg Consulting is committed to being environmentally conscious by actively supporting programs and tactics that reduce our company's overall environmental impact and by continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating procedures.

We aim to directly address how our business activities impact the environment by conducting initiatives such as:

• Reducing material, water, and energy consumption
• Minimizing waste; Recycling resources from paper to hardware, or purchasing recycle products, as well as utilizing reused packaging and shipping materials
• Maximizing remote work engagements and teleconferencing to eliminate travel and commuting emissions
• Reusing tradeshow structure and materials to curb waste, production energy, and freight emissions
• Minimizing handout, flyer, and mailing prints to avoid paper waste

We will encourage our client hospitals, partners, and software/technology vendors to do the same and value partnerships with mutual focus on environmental consciousness.

At Stoltenberg Consulting, we recognize that we have a responsibility to the environment and will ensure that this policy and all procedures relating to it are understood, implemented, and maintained across the company.

Geared Toward Giving Back

Our focus to do what's best doesn't stop with our healthcare clients. It extends into philanthropic and educational endeavors for young professionals, women in health tech, the healthcare industry, and local communities.

To fulfill this focus on corporate social responsibility, just a few of Stoltenberg's Giving Back Initiatives are the following:

• First firm to initiate a foundation scholarship with the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) — The Stoltenberg 25-Year Future Fund Scholarship for CIO education.
• Sponsor and facilitator of many CHIME Fall Forum Giving Back Events over the years, collecting wagons full of interactive toys for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, organizing Hurricane Harvey relief supply drive donations in Texas, addressing the ongoing opioid crisis in San Diego with education and recovery kits, and more.
• Founder of the Women of CHIME Circle, a group focused on providing networking, mentorship, and philanthropic opportunities to female health IT leaders.
• Founding sponsor of the first ever Health Data Management Most Powerful Women in Health IT Conference.

• Sole sponsor of Women of CHIME networking and executive mentorship events benefitting collegiate women from San Diego's HAHN School of Nursing and Health Science's graduate informatics program.
