Senior Epic Care Interoperability Systems Analyst

Job Description

Senior Epic Care Interoperability Systems Analyst needed for long-term contract in Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and modifies complex business rules in software applications to support organizational needs, in collaboration with end-users. May design, build, test, debug and install application systems.
  • Plans, designs, develops, and installs assigned systems.
  • Tests and troubleshoots existing and proposed systems.
  • Functions as independent project manager or lead for module or system. Provides expert and creative solutions to user requirements, inquiries and problems.
  • Analyzes business and clinical processes and data to identify opportunities and improve existing processes using information technology.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in a related field.
  • 3 years of experience as Epic Analyst.
  • Knowledge of Epic EHR (Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, Healthy Planet, Interoperability); EHR Connectivity, Carequality, eHealth Exchange, State HIE, Reference Labs, Pharmacy Benefits Manager, FHIR, APIs, HL7, XML, SFTP, Data Reconciliation and Terminology Mapping (SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm), Claims Data Integration, Workflow Analysis.

Epic Senior Applications Manager/Senior Project Manager

Job Description

Epic Senior Applications Manager/Senior Project Manager needed for long term contract in Midwest.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 8 Programmers and Analysts who support Hospital Revenue Cycle applications.
  • Manage a Project Manager as a direct report with a team of 7 Programmers and Analysts who support scheduling and registration applications.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing Health Information Technology strategic plan as it relates to organizational strategic plan.
  • Oversee responsibility for management of three or more highly complex applications and supporting applications that require high availability.
  • Manage the implementation of clinical applications (Epic ADT/Prelude/HIM/Resolute/Cadence)
  • Manage a team of professionals that report to this position
  • Manage the ongoing support, maintenance, upgrades or enhancements of the installed application base
  • Maintain mechanisms for identifying opportunities for improvement in application programs and systems with particular reference to delivery, scheduling, user information and satisfaction
  • Prepare budgets and contracts
  • Prepare high level reports
  • Develop policies and procedures for the department

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience with Hospital Revenue Cycle applications strongly preferred (ADT/Prelude/HIM/Resolute/Cadence)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience/Advanced degree or degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Healthcare Information Systems with practical experience in hospital operations and systems analysis
  • 3+ years of management experience showing increasing responsibility to include capital and operating expense budgeting, and experience creating reports for Senior Management
  • Solid understanding of healthcare applications
  • Ability to solve highly complex technical, organizational and operational problems
  • Programming logic skills and the proven ability to maintain and understand complex applications
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting, code debugging and problem-solving skills

  • Clinical (Nurse, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, Respiratory Therapist, Lab or Radiology Tech) or Financial/Patient Management background highly desired
  • If no direct clinical care background, multiple years of healthcare information systems experience
  • Experience implementing and supporting Epic products (Two+ years highly desired)
  • Experience working with the specific application request (Two+ years highly desired)
  • Epic certification in at least one product
  • Completion of at least one full implementation including workflow analysis, build, training and support
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Willingness to travel
