Cerner System Analyst

Job Description

Cerner System Analyst needed for long-term contract in Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain system requirements and functional design specifications ensuring design and integration standards are met for assigned computer systems.
  • Participate in implementation/upgrade projects, including requirements definition, design, development, training and support per system life cycle methodologies and system development standards.
  • Provide end user support and collaborate with end users to provide workflow analysis to support departmental and organizational efficiencies, objectives and goals while following applicable policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of assigned applications' design requirements, build tools, process flows, data flows, database concepts, and integration with other applications to ensure system is used to its greatest functionality and system updates/changes are completed with minimal unforeseen issues.
  • Demonstrate analytical thought processes to identify the root cause of issues, possible viable solutions, impact on end users and recommended course of action, while discerning issue impact/urgency to ensure issues are resolved accurately, timely with highest priority issues resolved first, and with minimal rework required.
  • Create, maintain and execute test plans that are up-to-date, ready for use, and executed in writing for all new system and functionality implementations, changes to vendor code and system upgrades, including test scenarios designed to test all possible outcomes of design and/or workflow/process change to ensure systems/functionality implemented have no significant negative impact on end-users.
  • Develop and maintain system related workflow, dataflow and procedures documentation for all systems assigned to ensure continuity of support, and training for subsequent new hires
  • Participate with Information Technology Management in planning, organizing and analyzing new and current systems applications and associated processes to satisfy end users' short- and long-term needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree with 3 years' system building and/or process applications experience
  • Three years of experience demonstrating knowledge of systems analysis methodologies, system design and installation tasks, workflow process analysis and software application systems implementation

Senior Cerner Analyst

Job Description

Senior Cerner Analyst needed for long term contract in Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Manager of Medical Informatics to build and maintain components of Cerner Millennium and related systems that impact physician documentation.
  • Extensive understanding of system build and implementation, ability to analyze and understand business problems, and knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems.
  • Provide secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patient experiences.
  • Work with Medical Informatics team to enhance end user experience using Cerner Lights On, Cerner Physician Advance, and other analytics tools.
  • Keep abreast of changes and enhancements to Cerner Physician Advance and other tools that assist in defining physician metrics.
  • Coordinate strategy for evaluating, upgrading, implementing, and maximizing changes that would most benefit Medical Informatics team, facility Physician Informatics Liaisons and physicians.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other end users in analysis and documentation of clinical workflows, performing gap analysis, identifying needed process changes, and developing future workflows during implementation of new solutions or functionality.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff is essential for this position.
  • Extensive analytic work will be expected of this analyst.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5+ years' experience with clinical/technical system application implementation in Cerner
  • 3-5+ years of clinical/technical background
  • Experience analyzing data
  • Experience with leading small groups or projects
  • MPage development preferred
  • Dynamic Documentation build experience preferred
  • Experience with Front-End Voice Dictation systems preferred
  • Experience building macros, smart templates, and autotexts in the above applications preferred
  • Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Office Project experience
  • Mentoring/training experience preferred

Cerner Interface Application Specialist

Job Description

Cerner Interface Application Specialist needed for long term contract in Southern US

Responsibilities

  • On-site analyst to write custom CCL interface scripts using Cerner OpenEngine. A multitude of applications are interfaced into Cerner system, and troubleshooting, maintenance, and modification of existing interfaces is required.
  • Analysis, design, and maintenance of interfaces within Cerner, STAR and other connecting systems. ADT/registration, ORM/orders, ORU/results, DFT/charges inbound and outbound HL7 messages are used as well as other formats.
  • Integration support and troubleshooting, to include researching why specific messages fail.
  • Create functional and technical specifications or instructions and perform configuration, acceptance testing, and problem resolution related to interfaces.
  • Present technical findings and approach in a clear and concise manner to both a technical and non-technical audience; document any table/coding issues and resolutions.
  • Maintain good working relationships with end users, super users, and departments, serving on hospital committees as required.
  • Project planning and/or team lead for interface development.
  • May work on multiple implementations at any given time.
  • Deepen technical understanding of application environment across all applications supported through cross training to assist with maintenance and support of other products as assigned.
  • Assist in process and work flow changes, which may be needed with automation into existing or future systems.

Minimum Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Programming, Information Systems or equivalent, or 4+ years' experience with an Interface engine, knowledge of HL7, SQL programming language and proven programming skills, along with knowledge of UNIX commands and MS Windows, basic database structure, and basic networking. Ability to immediately adapt to changing requirements and conditions. Understanding of and experience with Information Systems and data flow between main Hospital Information Applications and Clinical Information Applications.

Cerner Revenue Analyst

Job Description

Cerner Revenue Analyst needed for long term position in the Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Performs at an independent level at providing systems analysis with use of informatics skills to support functions throughout the Enterprise Suite of applications
  • Maintains and designs databases and assists with system design and implementations
  • Performs a variety of cross-functional information systems analysis and functions on multiple systems
  • Analyzes and resolves system related problems
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects including planning and implementation and ongoing development, maintenance and data integrity of clinical and business systems
  • Understands network operating systems, how those systems are utilized and how they work with the software applications
  • Understands host-based systems and related interfaces, data exchange, flow, content, testing and troubleshooting and how they are utilized within the context of the network
  • Provides non-production and production maintenance (design, build, test and document)
  • Project installation support; Document process flow improvements; Table/Profile building; Application training/education; Post installation support; End-user support and communication; Computer Operations support

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or Associates Degree in IS/ Computer Science or a related area (or experience equivalent) required
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years related experience in clinical/financial/technical area required
  • Applicable current licensure in clinical/financial/technical field preferred
  • Interviewing and listening skills to talk with individuals and groups. Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information. Organizational skills to validate data obtained and expose new areas for elicitation. Interpersonal skills to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts
  • Strong multi-healthcare system background; thorough knowledge and understanding of acute care workflow
  • Analytical skills and core understanding of Cerner HNA tools
  • Understanding of relationship between documentation, charge capture and hospital revenue processes
  • Proficient in and understands report qualifications; provides guidance with report development

Cerner Help Desk Supervisor

Job Description

Interim Cerner help desk supervisor needed for hospital in Western New York to manage hospital EHR help desk personnel and operations until permanent replacement is found. Prior experience as hospital help desk supervisor or manager required. Technical knowledge of Cerner EHR system desired. Immediate start. Weekly travel (M-Th).

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support as help desk operates between 6:30 a.m.-11:15 p.m. EST.
  • Assist with establishing service level agreements if applicable.
  • Ensure staff follow up on help desk requests, inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and recommendations to improve processes when possible.
  • Work with staff to develop useful dashboards and weekly/monthly reports to management if needed.
  • Participate in meetings within IT as needed to improve and integrate process and procedures.
  • Set performance expectations and coach employees to succeed through performance discussions.
  • Coordinate help desk personnel training for any new upgraded applications or delivery items that client is moving forward.
  • Produce personnel schedule and coordinate necessary logistics.
